The political playing field has always been uneven when it comes to women and men, and on November 7, 2017, the City of Atlanta will choose whether that gender gap becomes even more significant. This year we are in jeopardy of losing four of our eight current female Council members. While there are strong women running for Council, Mayor, and City Council President, we don’t know how those races will turn out.
Today more than ever, it’s critical that we ensure women have a voice and are well represented in leadership positions. Women for Lauren seeks to advance my candidacy for Atlanta City Council, District 2 by raising awareness of the need for policies and leadership that support:
- equal rights
- leadership opportunities for women and girls
- safe and secure families
- strong communities in Atlanta
Below are the women who have already committed to the advancement of women in our leadership and public office by raising awareness of the issues, and fundraising for our campaign.
